I was born and raised in scenic Virginia, and have always been passionate about health, sport, and community involvement. I received my Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from James Madison University where I was fortunate enough to work with a variety of Division I College athletic teams.  In addition to becoming a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), I obtained my EMT-Enhanced certification and volunteered as an emergency medical provider for several years.

While pursuing my Masters in Health and Movement Science at Virginia Commonwealth University, I worked as an Athletic Trainer for several inner-city high schools where I developed a heart for underprivileged youth.  After completing my Masters, I moved to Honolulu, Hawaii to pursue a Doctorate in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Science.  During my time in Hawaii, I collaborated with multiple fitness professionals in a variety of unique fitness settings, adding blood flow restricted training and visual and sensory performance to my arsenal of fitness tools.  I was employed as an Athletic Trainer for a private high school as well as the Athletic Trainer for the Women's and Men's Olympic Beach Volleyball tournament, serving the athletes of China, Canada, and the United States. 

I am currently conducting my doctoral research in the culturally rich cities of San Francisco and Honolulu.  I am investigating the validity of current injury risk reduction practices in order to develop a more comprehensive injury risk analysis tool.  My research interests include biomechanics, exercise and training program effectiveness, assessing athletic readiness, injury risk reduction, and body composition. I have also taught several undergraduate courses at the University of Hawaii's department of Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Science. 

My  passion for injury prevention and education led me to The Assembly  where I am excited for the opportunity to share my expertise, humor, and knowledge during my signature mobility and recovery class, β€œThe Release.”

I can often be found indulging my creative side as an actor, painter, and musician but I am happiest when I am helping others. My free time consists of dancing around to music, challenging my cooking skills, and being constantly inspired by beauty in all forms. I am passionate about encouraging young women to confidently embrace every opportunity to nourish their best selves.
