Over the years, I have had the honor of being an ambassador for several extraordinary brands in the health and fitness space. These companies and I worked together to identify then tackle a shared vision of pushing limits, both physically and mentally. From there, we created meaningful stories that inspired others to take action.
That’s why at Movemeant Foundation, we’ve decided to do the same thing with the launch of our “Dare to Bare" Ambassador program. We’ve hand-selected inspirational leaders from across the country who can help us defy what’s possible when it comes to getting people moving. They are amplifiers for our mission, taking a proud stand for those suffering from body image issues, physical inactivity and the emotional and psychological consequences of an unrealistic standard of beauty.
They’re going to help us accomplish two things—action and awareness—by motivating people to take on “dares" that spread the message of body acceptance . Our ultimate goal is to help people reveal the best and most confident versions of themselves.
It’s obvious that our nation is in a crisis. By middle school, 40-70 percent of girls report that they are dissatisfied with two or more parts of their body, and body satisfaction hits rock bottom between the ages of 12 and 15. To compound body dissatisfaction, 51.7% of women ages 18 – 39 reported no participation in any physical activity.
